Greenberg Traurig is replenishing its real estate practice in Warsaw by adding seven new legal professionals to its ranks, including a partner, following the departure of 10 lawyers to CMS in early November.
Maciej Jodkowski joins as a partner from Dentons, where he had risen to partner at the beginning of this year. He is joined by three members of his team at Dentons: senior associates Karol Lewandowski and Karolina Tulwin, and paralegal Alicja Kwiatkowska.
In addition to the team from Dentons, three other real estate lawyers are joining from Polish firms: Izabela Żmijewska, who joins as a senior associate, and Jędrzej Antoszewski and Tomasz Drzewiecki, who join as associates.
It is a swift move by Greenberg, which earlier in November lost a 10-strong Warsaw real estate team to CMS. Led by real estate shareholder Agata Jurek-Zbrojska, and local partners Małgorzata Madej-Balcerowska and Dominik Rafałko, the team joined the U.K.-headquartered firm along with seven associates, according to a person with knowledge of the hires.
Greenberg Traurig’s real estate team in Warsaw now numbers 40 lawyers covering Poland and central Europe.
The firm has been adding legal firepower at a fast clip. A team of seven litigation partners and their associates recently joined in London, and “highly regarded leaders in their areas of practice” will soon join in Amsterdam in Milan, according to a statement from Richard A. Rosenbaum, executive chairman.
