As seems so common these days, the rise to prominence of several talented transgender people has unleashed a tsunami of backlash.
From the brilliant Jeopardy! champion Amy Schneider to the breathtakingly talented actor Elliot Page, the visibility of transgender and gender-diverse people has risen recently – and so have the discriminatory hatred and threats. Sadly, the vitriol isn’t just verbal: 2021 was the deadliest year for transgender people, with nearly 400 murdered, one in four in their own home.
