A coach hire company based in Greater Manchester has earned recognition from the DVSA for its services.
Yelloway, which was formerly based in the centre of Rochdale, is a coach hire company serving all areas of Greater Manchester, Lancashire and West Yorkshire.
The business, which offers school and group travel, travel to corporate events and even wedding hires, was encouraged to apply for the Earned Recognition scheme in 2019 and was successful in its application earlier this year.
The DVSA describes its Earned Recognition scheme as “a voluntary scheme for all operators who can demonstrate a strong track record of compliance and adherence to standards.
“Operators must be able to show that they have robust systems and processes that promote effective and proactive transport management.”
Although the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns delayed Yelloway’s quest for Earned Recognition, the company formally submitted the audit in early 2022.
After a tense few weeks, it was revealed that they had been successful, which saw them become just the second coach operator in the Greater Manchester area to be accredited.
In a post on their website, Yelloway said: “Like many businesses, we have had to adapt to new ways of working since the pandemic hit early 2020.
“Not only have we adapted, we’ve improved, we’ve grown and although it’s taken us longer than expected with repeated lockdowns because of the pandemic we’ve got there, we didn’t give up and we’re where we should be; a recognised, safe, reliable coach operator.
“Oh yes; and one of the first two coach operators in the Greater Manchester area to be accredited with the much-acclaimed DVSA Earned Recognition award. Are we proud? I’ll say!”
