A married couple from Leeds who travelled Europe for just £600 each are hoping to impart some of their money-saving wisdom through their YouTube channel.
John Parks and his wife Becky, who both work full-time, enjoy a minimum of five holidays every year and say they are often asked how they manage to spread the cost.
“If we have two or three days off we see if we can go away together,” said Becky, 28. “Nine holidays in one year is the most we have done.”

John, who works for Yorkshire Ambulance Service, and Becky, who works for a local airline, recently started to share their getaways in the form of a vlog, which they upload to their Youtube channel ‘Parks Travel Guide’.
“We have always travelled together on a budget and people ask us how we do it so many times a year,” the pair told Leeds Live. “We were already giving quite a lot of tips to people, but initially we just filmed the vlog for us.”

The pair uploaded their first travel vlog, titled ’24 hours in Gdansk on a budget’, three months ago and have since shared videos from Malta, Munich, Budapest, Krakow, Hong Kong and Tenerife.
“When we go away, the first thing we do is think about what is in the area and how much (money) we need to take with us,” said John, 35.
“So, things like the cost of a pint or a meal. We explain all of this in the vlog and we have had quite a good reception so far – it appeals to the British market.”
The couple, who have been married for three years, recently visited five major European cities in 13 nights, organising flights and accommodation as they travelled. “It only came to £600 each for flights, accommodation and travel,” they said.
John said the purpose of the couple’s YouTube channel is to help other people enjoy similar experiences on a budget. “If we can help one person with some information then our job is done,” he said. “We are not actors, just typical Yorkshire people.
“We are not sponsored or monetised so we rely on likes. It is starting to pick up but it is a marathon for us. We try and have a bit of fun. We put a few of our outtakes on the end of the vlogs.”
John and Becky are currently in the process of planning their next getaway to Sri Lanka where they hope to visit seven different locations in 16 nights.
