A trendy street food market with cuisines from around the world is coming to Thornaby.
Workmen have moved into the former Poundstretcher to begin building The Food Shack. It will be Teesside’s first dedicated food hall, following on from the likes of Darlington’s indoor market and the Durham Food Pit, at the Riverwalk.
Organisers have put a shout out for vendors selling the following cuisines:
In a post on the Food Shack’s Facebook page, the organisers quipped: “Did you know we will be hosting live acts and music – the Pavillion centre manager is like a young Simon Cowell so we’re destined to have some decent acts on board. What would you like to see?”
Food vendors can take up “easy in, yearly licences”. One monthly cost includes utilities, rent. Flooring and ventilation included. “You just need to make your amazing food and we’ll do the rest,” said the post.
