MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Teenage Huddersfield stand-off Will Pryce could be banned for eight matches or more following his dismissal in the Giants’ 14-6 Super League defeat at Hull on Sunday.

Pryce, the 19-year-old son of former GB international Leon Pryce, was shown a red card 16 minutes from the end of the match for a dangerous tackle on Hull winger Connor Wynne.

The Rugby Football League’s match review panel has referred him to a disciplinary hearing on a grade-F charge, the most serious available to them, which normally carries a suspension of eight-plus games.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: The government has been urged to allow Chelsea fans access to FA Cup semi-final tickets, provided any proceeds go to the people of Ukraine.

Julian Knight, the chair of the digital, culture, media & sport committee, has called for changes to the special licence imposed on the club after their owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the government.

The intention of the licence is to deny the club — and by extension Abramovich, who the government says has ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin — the ability to generate new revenue, including from ticket sales.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Richard Agar says he took a selfless decision to quit his job as Leeds head coach and has tipped his successor to turn around their fortunes.

The 50-year-old Agar, who had been in the job since the sacking of Dave Furner in May 2019, stepped down with immediate effect yesterday with the Rhinos third from bottom of the Super League after winning just one of their first six matches.
